401(k) Retirement Savings Plan
Your UUS 401(k) through Empower is one of the most valuable benefits you have. All active employees are eligible starting the first of the month after hire, and you can save with traditional pre-tax contributions, Roth after-tax contributions, or both.
UUS matches 100% of the first 3% of pay you contribute, plus 50% of the next 3%. Contribute at least 6% and you'll receive the full 4.5% company match. That's free money toward your future, so don't leave it on the table.
You can start, stop, or change your contributions at any time.

Medical & Pharmacy
Medical and pharmacy benefits cover your healthcare needs including doctor visits, hospital stays, prescriptions, and preventive care. Understanding your plan helps you minimize out-of-pocket costs and choose the right providers.
Mental Health Resources and EAP
Your mental health matters. EAP provides free confidential counseling, and your medical plan covers therapy and psychiatric care. All resources are 100% confidential, your employer never sees usage details.
Dental and Vision
Dental and vision benefits cover routine exams, cleanings, eyeglasses, contacts, and more. Most preventive services are covered at 100%, don't leave free money on the table.
FSA and HSA
Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts let you pay for healthcare with pre-tax dollars, effectively saving 20-30% on eligible expenses like copays, glasses, and prescriptions.
Disability
Disability insurance replaces a portion of your income if you can't work due to illness or injury. Short-term covers weeks to months; long-term covers extended periods. Think of it as paycheck protection.
Term Life and Voluntary Term Life
Life insurance provides financial protection for your loved ones if something happens to you. Your employer provides basic coverage automatically, and you can buy more at discounted group rates.
Voluntary Benefits
Voluntary benefits are optional coverages at group-discounted rates. Some pay cash directly to you for specific events like accidents, hospital stays, or critical illness. Others, like permanent life insurance, build cash value and protect your family for the long term. It's extra protection beyond your core benefits.
